Roy Grice Jr. officiating. Burial was at Shade Grove Cemetery at Jersey. Mrs. Hooks died Saturday, June 28, at Smackover Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God. Survivors include six sons, Merl Dean Hooks of Crossett, Joe Frank Hooks and Russell Smead Hooks, both of Smackover, Cecil Dewayne Hooks of Locus Bayon, Bill Edward Hooks of Pine Bluff and Marion Hooks of Camden; five daughters, Patsy Loomis of Norphlet, Merline Knight of Hampton, Morris Jeffreys of Crossett, Peggy Ross of Camden and Marilyn Pitts of Hot Springs; one step-son, Louis Hooks of Crossett; one step-daughter, Lois Green of Junction City; one brother, Billy Joe Dailey of El Dorado; one sister, Willie Mae Belin of Crossett; 43 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin O. Hooks. Pallbearers were Ernie Loomis, Chris Hooks, Joel Hooks, Michael Hooks, Bruce Green and Eddie Hooks. Honorary pallbearers were Darcy Jeffreys, Dane Chandler, Tony Hooks, Kenneth Odom, Jimmy Pitts and Luke Hooks.
