All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ar/ashley/ashley.htm *********************************************************** From the 25 June 1997 issue of "The Ashley News Observer" (Crossett (Ashley County) Ark): JOSEPH MCMAHAN ************** Funeral services for Joseph Howard "Joe" McMahan, 77, of Crossett were held Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Crossett with the Revs. David Newberry and Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial was at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Mr. McMahan died Wednesday, June 18. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett where he sang in the Golden Voices Choir, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Georgia-Pacific Corp. after 39 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Virginia McMahan; three sons, Sam McMahan, Frank McMahan and Gary McMahan, all of Crossett; two daughters, Ruth Morgan of Albany, Ga. and Pat Burke of Monticello; one brother, Sam McMahan of Kelso; 14 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were Steven McMahan, Samuel James McMahan, Jason McMahan, Andy McMahan, Clayton Burke, Tracy Saunders and Clay Saunders. Memorials may be made to trhe Transportation Fund at First Baptist Church of Crossett, 701 Main St., Crossett, AR 71635.
