HERMAN NORWOOD SR.

  Funeral services for Herman Norwood Sr., 75, of Crossett, were held Monday,
June 2, at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. B.J. Jackson
officiating.  Burial was at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell
Funeral Home of Hamburg.
  Mr. Norwood died Thursday, May 28, at Ashley Memorial Hospital.
  A native of Ashley County, he was retired from the Georgia-Pacific Plywood
Mill and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.  He was a U.S. Air Force
veteran of World War II.
  Survivors include two sons, Fredie Norwood and Willie Norwood, both of
Crossett; two daughters, Mary Scott and Savannah Martin, both of Crossett;
one brother, Orzell Norwood of Crossett; two sisters, Eddie Mae Norwood and
Georgia Ann Jones, both of Crossett; 14 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee Norwood; a son, Herman
Norwood Jr.; four brothers and one sister.
  Nephews served as pallbearers.
