Ashley News Observer, Crossett AR, 13 Jan 1986
John Wesley Sled, 71, Crossett, died Monday, Jan. 13.  He was a retired Paper 
Mill worker, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of First United 
Pentecostal Church of North Crossett.  Survivors include his wife, Eva R., 
Crossett; two sons, James and Bobby, both of Crossett; a daughter, Maxie 
Smith, Gary, Ind.; three brothers, Willie, Hamburg, E.D., Fontana, Calif., and 
Noah W., Warren; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Creed, Crossett, and Esther Gates, 
Banks; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will 
be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, with 
Brothers George Rowell and Larry Hickman officiating.  Burial will follow in 
Crossroads Cemetery, under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
