Hart, whose sketch precedes this. At the age of twelve years he was taken to Benton County, Ark., and was here reared to manhood. In 1873 he was married to Miss Nancy E. Caldwell, a daughter of Joshua and Sarah (Alexander) Caldwell. Mrs. Hart was born in Benton County in 1837, and is the mother of eight children: John P., Mary A., Cora B., Evaline, Harden, Jennie May, Edmond L. and Jesse Lambeth. In 1873 Mr. Hart located on his present farm, and in 1882 erected a frame dwelling house at a cost of $973. He is now the owner of 200 acres of land, and for the past fourteen years he has been engaged in stock-dealing. He at first bought and sold stock on commission, but for several years past he has been buying and selling on his own account, shipping to St. Louis. Mr. Hart has bought and sold more stock than any other man in Benton County, and is an excellent judge of stock of all kinds. He is a Democrat in politics, and is a member of the Masonic fraternity. At the present time he is deputy sheriff under F. P. Galbraith.
