W. Duckworth is a member of the real estate, loan and insurance company of Duckworth & Bixler, of Rogers, Ark. Mr. Duckworth was born in Benton County. Ark., in 1850, and is a son of J. P. and Nancy (Alexander) Duckworth, who were born in Missouri and Kentucky, respectively. They are at present residing in Rogers, and eight of their nine children are living. Their son, J. W., was reared and educated in his native State, and after reaching a suitable age spent some time in pedagoguing. He took an irregular course in the Springdale Academy, and then went to Jackson, Tenn., where he took a course in Greek and the mental and moral sciences. Owing to ill health he concluded to travel for some time, and in his wanderings visited many of the principal points of interest, and the large cities of the United States. His health finally returned, and in 1877 he settled down in Rogers, Ark., and engaged in his present business. He is one of the stock holders in the canning and packing factory at Rogers, and is one of the enterprising and public-spirited citizens of the county. In 1875 he was united in marriage with Miss Arizona Sikes, who was born in Benton County in 1858, and is the mother of two children, Charley R. and Siddie. Mr. and Mrs. Duckworth are members of the Baptist Church; he is a Democrat, and a member of the A. F. & A. M.
