After marriage they settled on a farm in Oregon County, Mo., where they remained until 1863, and then moved to Polk County, of the same State, where they remained three years. From there they went to Benton County, on the Illinois River, and have since lived in this vicinity. He has 155 acres under cultivation, and 320 acres in all. Mr. Walter Alley took, for his second wife, Miss Mary Carter, and one child was born to this marriage, Thomas, who is living on the river bottom farm.
