Charlie Ballard was a homebuilder in Lake Jackson, TX for 32 years. He spent many of his early years with his Aunt Faye Middleton. She taught him to hunt and fish in the mountains of Oregon where she lives. Rev. Joe Brumbelow commented at the Funeral that Charlie Ballard was a loving father to his children. He mentioned that in recent months they had visited and laughed, cried, and prayed together. As Brother Joe always said at a funeral about a Christian, ÒThe most important thing about Charlie Ballard - there came a time in his life that he realized that he was a sinner and that Jesus had died on the cross to save him. He asked Jesus to forgive him of his sin and trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.Ó ÒLet not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.Ó Thomas said to Him, ÒLord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?Ó Jesus said to him, ÒI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.Ó -John 14:1-6; The Bible. Scripture Rev. Joe Brumbelow often used in Funeral Services. A book about Rev. Brumbelow was published in 2005: The Wit and Wisdom of Pastor Joe Brumbelow, hannibalbooks.com.
