Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Christeson Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brisco officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.D. Smith, Sam Tinsley, G.B. Harp, Jack Holt, Tom Riggins and Bob Roe. Honorary pallbearers include all members of law enforcement. Memorials may be made to Grubb Springs Church building fund. She was born March 6, 1927, at Denver and was raised by O.C. and Ida Hefner. She was a member of the Grubb Springs Baptist Church and retired from Tyson’s after 32 years. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, caring for grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and painting. In the 1960s Faye lived in the Boone County Jail where she cooked for the prisoners, was the first Boone County female deputy and did civil process service for the county. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Miles; stepfather, Leonard Miles; daughter, Jackie Sue Hickman Riggins; brothers, Cecil Hefner and Micky Gene Miles; and a sister, Corine McGehee. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Mary Hickman and Doyle R. “Barney” and Jan Hickman, all of Harrison; two brothers, Virgil Miles of Omaha and David Miles of Harrison; five grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. She was born March 6, 1927, in Denver, Arkansas. Faye was raised by O. C. and Ida Hefner. Mrs. Hickman was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Miles; her step-father, Leonard Miles; her daughter, Jackie Sue (Hickman) Riggins; her brothers, Cecil Hefner and Micky Gene Miles; and her sister, Corine McGehee. Faye was a member of the Grubb Springs Baptist Church. In the 1960s, Faye lived in the Boone County Jail where she cooked for the prisoners.
