Pine Bluff Commercial, Pine Bluff AR, 13 Nov 1981
Hampton – Carroll Edward Gates, 72, of Jersey (Bradley County), died Thursday 
at Hampton Nursing Home (Calhoun County).  He was a retired farmer and a 
Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Osie Rowell Gates; two daughters, 
Kathrine Louise Dalton of Mesa, Arizona, and Carolyn Hopper of Jersey; a 
sister, Ruth Boyette of Gravel Ridge; five grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Shady 
Grove Baptist Church at Jersey by Reverend Julian Anders and Reverend John Lem 
Smith.  Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery at Jersey by Frazer’s Funeral 
Home of Warren.
