All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Loy Carr passed away on November 14, 2009 at Berryville, AR at the age of 94. Loy was born March 11, 1915 to Sally Steward and Charlie Carr in Berryville, AR. He grew up in Mountain Grove, MO. He was converted and baptized in 1928 at the age of 13. He later moved to Berryville to pursue his business interests, operating a grocery store in Green Forest and Berryville, AR. He was married to Nell Hulse on July 25, 1937 in Galena, MO. To this union was born a daughter, Barbara Nell on April 8, 1949, who died in infancy after two days. In 1950 Loy purchased Walker Dry Goods which later became Carr Dry Goods. He ran his business until 1999. Loy was preceded in death by his wife Nell in 1968, his baby daughter, his mother Sally Casey, his father Charlie Carr. Years later Loy found a very important and special, special friend named Hazel Baker. In his last years they spent everyday enjoying one another's company and friendship. Loy loved being in business. He made friends through all his activities. He found a bargain in everyplace he went. He had great entertainment in trading cars. Loy was very well read, he read to be informed about business and current events. Through his reading, he learned how to fix equipment or problems. Some of Loy's greatest enjoyments came from his time spent at the Senior Center. He had fond memories of the friends he had made there. People made Loy's life richer from their kindness and generosity. Loy is survived by three sisters, Velma Wolfe of Lebanon, MO; Rebecca Webb of Hartville, MO; Dorothy Dowden of Mountain Grove, MO; two brothers, Glen Casey of Graff, MO; Wayne Casey of Mountain Grove, MO; three cousins, Carroll Carr and Gordon Carr of Berryville, AR; Gail Wilson of Harrison, AR; and many family and friends. Visitations will be 5 until 8:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Brother Curtis Dowden officiating. Interment will be at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
