He then transferred to the Philippine Islands and was assigned to the 28th Bombardment Squadron at Nicholsfield in Manila, working as an aircraft radio operator repairman until 1941. He returned to the US and was assigned to the 34th School Squadron, Scott Air Force Base, as an instructor in aircraft radio operator mechanic. In 1946, he returned to the Philippines and was assigned to the 8th Communication Squadron at Clark Air Force Base until to the 8th Communication Squadron at Clark Air Force Base until 1947, when he was returned to Scott Air Force Base and was assigned to the 367th Technical Training Squadron until 1949, transferring to Japan in the Air and Air Force Communication Wings as Station Chief at Tageu, Korea, as Air Traffic Control and Ground Control Approach for 27 months. Upon his return to the U.S., he was again station at Scott Air Force Base where he remained until 1959 when he retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Eureka Springs.
