   Elizabeth Seitz Gardenhire Mathews Obituary 

 
Mrs. Elizabeth Mathews, wife of Alex Mathews, residing over the mountain 
southwest of town, died on last Saturday night at the ripe old age of 91 
years.  She had been ailing for a long time, having been totally blind 
for the past several years.  She was formerly Mrs. Gideon Gardenhire, her 
first husband having been killed during the Civil War.  She was the mother 
of  Mrs. Oscar Grim of Green Forest.  Interment was made at the Snow 
cemetery Monday morning, services being conducted by Eld. Riley Miller.
