Mr. Snow died Friday, March 11, 1977, in the University of Kansas City Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., after a long illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1897 in Berryville, and his parents were John and Alzena Brashears Snow. He grew up and attended schools there. Mr. Snow served in the U.S. Army during World War I. On Sept. 1, 1923, he married Ellen Olive Phillips Hammond. They moved to the Lane area in 1928. Mr. Snow worked for several years as the custodian of the Lane schools and later became engaged in buying and selling cattle. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Lane, Kan. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 20, 1964. Among the survivors are two sons, George Snow, Jr. and Robert Snow of Lane, Kan; a daughter, Mrs. Bernice McDougal of Greenley, Kan.; two brothers, Joe Snow of Bremerton, Wash., and Neff Snow of Berryville; two sisters, Mrs. Cleat Freeman and Mrs. Annabelle Anderson of Berryville, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Rev. Claude Scheuerman officiating at the services, with burial in the Lane Cemetery. Military services were held at the graveside. Arrangements were under the direction of Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. ************************************************************************
