Obituaries from the 1891 appendix. Sister S. Neighbors of Valley Grove departed this life July 13, 1891 Henry Whisenhunt of Mt. Pisgah, witnessed a good profession and departed this life April 6, 1891 age 67 years. S. H. Hawthorn of Black Springs Church departed this life February 18, 1891. Melvin Robinson of Bethel Church departed this life June 24, 1891 Sister Sarah E. Johnson, wife of G. W. D. Johnson and daughter of Hamilton L. and Rachael E. Wasson, born January 26, 1853 and departed this life December 7, 1890. For many years she had been a worker in her Lord's vineyard, in prayer and exhortation. She died fully resigned to her master's will, She rejoiced through faith in His promises, Oh how sweet to know the Lord, And rest our faith in his word; I know my own he doth say, They know me while on the way. Bro. W. J. Kennedy of Valley Grove departed this life June 26, 1891. His precise age is not know to this writter; but he was between 70 and 75 years of age. He was elected President of the Sunday School Convention about ten years ago and remained so with punctuality and zeal until his death. His loss was mourned by hundreds of children and adults of the entire association. His place can hardly be filled rendering the same satisfaction. We never heard aught against his Christian character and we expect that he will be bountifully rewarded when the Savior comes for His own. The good old man's life has been grandly great because it has been spent in the service of his God. He has passed under the rod but in the midst of shadows he found sunshine. The waves have rolled high around him but the voice of the Lord was often heard upon the troubled waters. His bow of promises has ever rested upon the over arching clouds, radiant with future hope, reaching across the valley of sin and sorrow into the land of light and life. God has given him long life and made him spiritually fruitful even in his old age. Kind father, rest in sweet repose until our Lord shall bid thee rise. And so shall all the redeemed in Christ meet the Savior in the skies. Amen. By: G. W. D. Johnson, J. H. West and R. W. Pate. Appointed to board to raising a Missionary fund: C. H. Eddlemon, J. N.
