T. died at the residence of Mr. A. C. Rhodes, in Arkadelphia, on the 24th of December 1875 in the 26th year of his age. He was a native of Montgomery County and on the 21st of December, three days before his death, started from home to market with cotton, in company with his brothers-in-law, Messrs. Rowton and Kelley, and on the second night out from his home was taken violently ill, and continued to grow worse. On his arrival in Arkadelphia, was taken to the residence of Mr. A. C. Rhodes, after which Drs. Wallace and McAlister were called in to see him, but the disease (congestion of the lungs) was so firmly seated that all medical aid proved unavailing and about 11 o'clock a.m., his spirit took its flight to regions beyond. He leaves a widowed mother and two small children, a father, mother and brothers and sisters. Clark County Arkansas Obituaries and Death Notices March 4, 1876 - page 2, column 4
