Alice Black Lavin Shepherd, daughter of Thomas Oscar Black Sr. from Rock Creek, 
Ark.  She was married to Thomas Lavin first, had one son Thomas Lavin, and then 
married Harry Shepherd.  She owned a railroad boarding house (three stories) on 
South Broad street.

Alice "Mammie" Hughes Black Roberts.  Daughter of Rev. John Jasper Hughes from 
Rock Creek, Arkansas.  She married Thomas Oscar Black Sr.  He died from a mule 
kick to the head and then she married Denny Roberts. (spent half her time in 
Gurdon and half in Guymon.

This photo was taken in Gurdon, Arkansas about 1930.  That is my mom (Ruby Leah 
Black) sitting in her mothers lap (Birtie Pounds Black).
