Rounds, both of Clark County Arkansas on the 22nd day of April A. D. 1841. Given under my hand this 25th, day of April 1841. S. R. Babbish J. P. The State of Arkansas County of Clark I james S. Ward, Clerk of the circuit court in and of the County aforesaid; do certify that the foregoing Certificate of Marriage was this day received at my office and filed therein, and that the foregoing is a (sic) (sic) (sic) faithful record thereof. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand as clerk as aforesaid, this 25th day of April A. D. 1841 Jas. S. Ward Clrk John Swanson Yarbrough, Jr., son of John Swanson Yarbrough and Unknown. Family traditions says that he is the son of Elizabeth Galbreath. The Yarbrough family lived in the Clark and Hempstead County area since 1820. Land records show that they were living in Arkanasa County area as early as 1816. John went to Texas in 1832 with his father and step mother, Cynthia. The Yarbrough family was listed on the 1835 Municipality of Tenehaw census. This census is the only known census that names son Swanson Yarbrough having been born circa 1819. Joseph Randolph Yarbrough's family Bible records that he was born on March 27, 1819 and died on February 09, 1849. He was likely born in Louisiana or Arkansas and may have died in Harris Co., TX. At some point he returned to Arkansas to marry Mary H. Mary H. (maiden name unknown) was married prior to her marriage to John Swanson Yarbrough. We do not know when Mary was born. Nothing much is known about John & Mary Yarbrough and they just seem to dissapear after their marriage. The only record that we have of Mary is when she sold John Swanson Yarbrough's headright in 1851 Harris Co., TX. She states that she is the only heir to John. Mary H. married 1st John Rose circa 1828. John Rose died abt. March 25, 1833, as on that date his coffin was built by Henry T. Lightfoot. On January 15, 1833, John Rose was appointed acting Justice of the Peace. Also that same day, he was appointed guardian of Alford Gibbons, infant son of John Gibbons, deceased. Mary H. and John Rose had one known child. Nancy Ann Rose, born September 28, 1829 in Arkanas, married on February 28, 1847 in Pike Co., AR to Pleasant White and died on July 12, 1907 in Quanah, Hardeman Co., TX. Mary married 2nd Lyman Franklin "Frank" Rounds on January 10, 1835 Clark Co., AR. Frank was born on August 02, 1807 in Vermont. Frank got into a scuffle in October of 1837 and fled Arkansas. Mary, and her small children now abandoned, filed for a divorce. As a result of Mary's abandonment by Frank Rounds her children were taken away from her. Lyman received land in Texas for having participated in the Battle of San Jacinto and also filed for a pension that gives specific details of his service. Frank died on January 17, 1890 in Erin Springs, Chicasaw Nation, Oklahoma. Mary and Frank Rounds had 2 children: 1. Wilson L. Rounds born circa 1838 AR, married Mary Thornton and died December 01, 1862 in the Civil War. 2. Mary Ellen Rounds born October 08, 1836 AR, married on May 09, 1847 in Hempstead Co., AR to David Neal McLaughlin, died on March 30, 1909 Blackwell, Nolan Co., TX.
