They are the documents concerning the estate of my gggrandfather, James Middleton White and the guardianship of his son, Robert Middleton White. Clay Probate Court Western Dist April Term 1884 In the Matter of the Est James M. White, Dec'd} Vesting order On this day it appearing to the Court from the petition and appraisement of Estelee White, widow of James M. White Dec'd that the personal property of said Est does note exceed the sum of Three Hundred Dollars, It is therfore considered and ordered by the Court that the following personal property vest absolutely in Estelee White widow of said James M. White Dec'd vez: One horse, 2 cows & calves, 1 yearling, 1 cow, 1 yoke oxen, three saws and 5 shoals, 1 lead horse wagon, 1/3 of sorghum mill,___, 1 hand saw, 1/2 of scythe and cradle, 1/2 six blacksmith tools, one working blade, 1/2 crosscut, saw, 1 ax, 1 ____cotton scales, 1___plowgears, 1 bed and c___, 1 clock, 1 lamp, 3 pistols, 1 gun, 1 rifle gun, 1 small rifle gun, 1 spinning wheel, 1 dog, steel traps My note: James M. White died leaving his minor son, Robert White and Robert's stepmother, Estelee White. Apparently Estelee died and the following court documents are regarding Robert's estate and the granting of guardianship of him. Probate Court Western District Clay County Arkansas 25th 1893 vacation In the matter of the Estate of Robert M. White, a minor} Inventory filed- Now, on this day, comes A.L. Allen and files and files and presents here his petition, duly verified by affidavit praying an order for letters of guardianship on the Estate of Robert M. White a minor under the age of 14 years; and the clerk seeing and understand the premises, is of the opinion that the prayer of said petition should be granted upon the said A.L. Allen entering into bond to the said minor in the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars with M.M.G____ and R. Pritchard as his sureties-and the Clerk being of the opinion that said bond is good and sufficient, therefore approves the same. It is therefore ordered that the said A.L. Allen be, and he herby is appointed guardian of the Estate of Robert M. White, a minor, as aforesaid; and that letters of____ date herewith issue to him the said A.L. Record Probate/Court, Western District In the Matter of the Estate of R M White, minor} Petition to sell land filed. Now on this day comes A.L. Allen, Guardian herein be attorney and by leave of court files his petition to sell land in said Estate. Inventory- Inventory of all personal Estate of Robt M. White Minor- Clay Co Ark-describing this personal property belonging to the minor and all personal property of whatsoever character made by A.L. Allen Guardian of said Minor-Date at Corning, Ark Feb 9, 1893. 172 Personal Property- One bed - 2 quilts Val 5.00, One trunk & contents val 6.00 One chair val .50 Total 11.50. State of Arkansas County of Clay}Affidavit of guard Be it rememberd that on this 9th day of Feb 1893 before me personally appeared A.L. Allen Guardian of Robert m. White a minor of Clay County, Ark, who being by we duly sworn on his oath says that the foregoing is a full inventory and description of all the goods, chattels and estate of said minor so far as he can ascertain therein. Allen, Guardian herein, and files and presents his inventory of personal property belonging to said estate. Allen, guardian herin and files and presents his appraisement of personal property in said estate which appraisement shows personal property appraised at the value of Eleven & 25/100 dollars.
