White, Dies At Banner Home December 29, 1957 Funeral services were held at the Banner Baptist church Monday afternoon, Dec. 30, for Mrs. Opal White, aged 63, whose death occurred at the family home at Banner, Saturday, Dec. 28, 1957. She was the wife of Dr. W. H. White, a well known Cleburne county physician. Mrs. White was born at Walnut Ridge and had spent her entire life in her native state. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Methodist church. A devoted wife and mother and a kind and considerate neighbor, she won the affection of a great host of friends during her many years of residence in the Banner area where her husband came to practice his profession. Besides her husband, other survivors are three sons, David of Detroit, Wilson of West Memphis and Clay of Banner: three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Webb and Mrs. Mona Humes of Muncie, IN, and Mrs. Carolyn Bailey of Janesville, WI.; five sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Spurlock of Memphis, Mrs. Ruby Austin of Portia, Mrs. Inez Smith of Walnut Ridge, Mrs. Celestia Van Winkle of Jonesboro and Mrs. Bess Mabel Smith of Inboden,: one brother, J.E. Harvey of Centralia, OH and 11 grandchildren. The Rev. O. D. Yount officiated at the funeral services and interment was in the Concord cemetery with arrangements by the Batesville funeral home.
