Amis has gone to Martinville, Yell county, to attend the annual gathering of Christadelphians. Miss Mary Taliaferro is in Little Rock, the guest of her sisters, Mrs. J. H. Hollis and Mrs. E. P. Olldredge. Mrs. S. E. Barnett has returned to her home in Pine Bluff, after extended visit to relatives in this community. Mrs. Davis Quinn is in Hope for a visit with the family of her father, W. G. Carter. Miss Vivian Moore is a member of a house party at Strong. The Rev. Mr. McGrow and family have arrived from Strong and are at home in the Baptist parsonage. J. H. Henderson and family are spending some weeks in Hot Springs. H. N. Robertson and Misses Helen and Mary Robertson have returned from Hot Springs, where they were the guests of Mr. Robertson's sister, Mrs. Reuben Crump. Mrs. J. C. Head of Texarkana is visiting her sister, Mrs. R. C. Lindsey. Mrs. A. B. Robertson has returned from Randall. Mrs. Hugh Jackman and children, Martha and Hugh Jr., have returned to their home in Pine Bluff. Friends here have received the announcement of the marriage of Miss Susie May Shipman to Thomas T. Johnson of Westbrook, Tex. Miss Olive McMurtry has returned from an extended stay in Arkadelphia. Miss Ada Ferguson entertained Thursday evening with a shower for Miss Anna Haskins, who on Sunday, is to become the bride of Hubert Davis. The Sigma Tau held its usual meeting Wednesday afternoon. Embroidery was forgotten while the members played rook and talked. Mrs. Josephine Boyd has returned from a visit to relatives in McGehee. Mrs. Julia Taliaferro Wynne and Mrs. Frank Taliaferro Hutchinson of Tamo visited Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Breathwaite this week. Mrs. R. C. Lindsey and Miss Eloise Lindsey, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lindswy, entertained the U. D. C. and other friends Monday. At noon a delicious and bountiful dinner was served. Thirteen were seated at the first table, and the thirteenth openly rejoiced that at last her wish had been gratified. After dinner the usual U. D. C. Business meeting was held, and a program on Arlington cemetery was led by Mrs. J. H. Breathwaite. About 30 guests were present. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Lee McClendon. Mrs. A. C. Helms visited her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Hartsell, at Draughon Monday. Mrs. Martin Wolks is spending the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Curry. Mr. and Mrs. Asa Bohnert and children, Elizabeth and Josie, of Pine Bluff, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Harlow from Saturday till Monday. Dr. Arranda Hughes and O. E. Renfrow went to Pine Bluff Wednesday. Guy Mack, the 13 year old son of Dr. and Mrs. H. D. Sadler, is the thirteenth grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Lee McLendon. He was born on the 13th of the month and his name contains 13 letters. On Monday morning Olive, daughter of Mr. S. V. Barnett, was married to James Niles Swanson in the presence of the members of the immediate families. They left on the noon train for Chicago, St. Louis and other points. They have many friends here and elswhere who wish them Godspeed on their journey through life. They will be at home at Clio after Aug. 25.
