Pine Bluff Commercial, Pine Bluff AR, 26 Sep 1932 (Monday)
Henry A. Hankins, aged 84 years, resident of Cleveland County, Arkansas all 
his life, died at 5:30 Sunday morning at the Davis Hospital from illness 
lasting some time, and has been at hospital for about 10 days.  Mr. Hankins 
had been farming for years until about 25 years ago he retired.  He was well 
known in this city.  On last Mother’s Day, he and his wife celebrated their 
66th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter at Star City, Mrs. D. 
M. Lindsay.  All their children were there and most of their grandchildren.  
He has been a member for years of the New Home Baptist Church.  He is survived 
by his wife and 12 children, five daughters, Mrs. M. E. Ogletree, Pine Bluff; 
Mrs. J. R. Brown, Sherrill, Ark.; Mrs. O. M. Chambers, Pine Bluff; Mrs. D. M. 
Lindsay, Star City, and Mrs. L. D. Lindsay, Pine Bluff, and seven sons, W. H., 
H. L., J. H., L. T., H. F., V. D., all of this city, and E. A. of Lubbock, 
Texas; two brothers, Frank Hankins and Carter T. Hankins of this city; one 
sister, Mrs. W. W. Dean of Pine Bluff; 96 grandchildren, 57 great 
grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, and quite a number of other 
relatives.  Remains were taken at 9:30 Monday morning to new Home Baptist 
Church where services were held at 10:30.  Services by Rev. I. B. Hodges, 
pastor of Hazel Street Baptist Church.  Burial in New Home cemetery.  Funeral 
arrangements were in charge of Ralph Robinson & Son Mortuary.
