Goodspeed Publishers, 1891. page 93 Peter Miller, the proprietor of Morrilton's meat market, has been identified with the affairs of Conway County since 1881, when he settled here on his arrival from Germany, to which country he owes his nativity, being born there on Christmas day in 1859. His parents, M. and Annie (Wellingbar) Miller, were both natives of Germany, and were the parents of one other child, Joseph. Mr. Miller, Sr., died in 1878, but his wife still lives, and resides in Germany with her son Joseph. Our subject was educated in Germany, and at arriving at his fourteenth year began working in a silver mine; he followed this for five years, and at the end of that time came to America and took up his residence in Conway County, where he began working in a shingle mill. In 1884 he started his present business, in which he has been successful; he now has a nicely fitted up shop with all conveniences for supplying the people of Morrilton with everything expected a completely-equipped meat market. He was married to Mary Sholle on May 13, 1886. Mrs. M, is also a native of Germany. They are now the parents of three children, named Mary, Rosa and Joseph. The family worship at the Catholic Church, to which Mr. Miller devotes time and means, assisting to advance its cause. Is an earnest advocate of schools, and does much to improve the beautiful City of Morrilton in which he has cast his lot, and is rapidly making his fortune.
