(Griffin) Teel. Father and mother are natives of Georgia, where they were born respectively (February 23, 1826 and December 1, 1825). They were married in Alabama, December 1, 1851. They were the parents of eight children, four of whom, Andrew H. (the subject of this sketch), Minerva A. (wife of R. S. Robertson), living in Perry County; Sarah L. (wife of Henry Robertson, of Perry County) and Mary E., are now living. Father emigrated from Alabama to Arkansas in 1872, and settled in Perry County, where he now resides. He was a soldier in the late war, enlisting in the infantry of the Thirteenth Alabama Regiment; he served till the close, surrendered at Petersburg, Va., in 1865, and participated in many of the most closely contested engagements of the war. At the cessation of hostilities he returned home and re-engaged in farming, an occupation he has followed since. He and his wife are long time members of the Baptist Church. Andrew H. Teel, the subject of this sketch, was married June 2, 1879, to Miss Margaret M. Snider, a daughter of George W. and Elizabeth (Straight) Snider. Mrs. Andrew Teel is a native of Yell County, Ark., where she was born November, 21, 1858. They are the parents of one son, Charles D., born February 19, 1880. Mr. Teel owns a good farm of 153 acres, well improved and stocked. He held the civil office of Constable of his township for four years and was Postmaster of Ada for about eighteen months. He is one of the enterprising men of his township, a supporter of schools, churches, and all public improvements, and politically affiliates with the Democratic party.
