Goodspeed Publishers, 1891. page 117 William Beverley Toon was born July 12, 1860, in Williamson County, Tennessee. He was the fifth child of seven children (four daughters and three sons) born to B. B. and Sallie D. Toon, both of whom were born and reared in Williamson County, Tennessee. He attended the schools of Franklin and vicinity until he was 17 years of age, when he entered the Webb School at Culleoka, where he completed the course in 1879. From here he went to Vanderbilt University, where he graduated with the degree of A. B. in 1883. He then went to Texas and taught at Dangerfield and Terrell from 1883 to 1885. From the latter place he went to Springfield, Conway County, and took charge of the Springfield College, where he remained until from 1885 to 1890, except one year which was spent in Terrell, Tex. From Springfield he went to Morrilton in 1890, and became one of the principals of the Morrilton Male and Female College, where he now resides. He was married in June of 1884, to Miss Lela Terrell, of Terrell, Tex., the youngest daughter of Robert A. Terrell, for whom the Town of Terrell was named. To W. B. Toon and wife was born one child, a son, Beverley Bolton Toon, August 26, 1886.
