Goodspeed Publishers, 1891. page 126 Mrs. Agnes Wolf, the widow of David Wolf (deceased), is a daughter of John A. and Margaret (McLane) Gordon. Mrs. Wolf is a native of Maryland, where she was born April 20, 1838. Her father and mother were natives of Maryland and were the parents of ten children, five sons and five daughters, cight-Agnes, Daniel M., Joseph S., James H., John A., Catherine A., Mary A. and Martha A., living. Father was a farmer and followed that occupation all his life. He was a member of the Catholic Church, and departed this life about 1880. The mother of Mrs. Wolf is still living, is 70 years of age and is a worthy member of the M. E. Church, South. Mrs. Wolf was married in Cavetown, Frederick County, Md., July 5, 1858. There were born to this union two children, David A. (deceased) and Adelina E., who married W. R. Hinkle, and became the mother of two children, Nellie and William A. Mr. Hinkle died in 1886. Mrs. Hinkle was married to her second husband, John P. Drake, in 1889. He is a native of Missouri, born October 27, 1858. He has always followed farming and came to Arkansas in 1878. Mrs. Drake, was born in Maryland, October 3, 1862. Both Mr. and Mrs. Drake are members of the M. E. Church. Mr. David Wolf was born in Maryland, April 21, 1839. He died December 6, 1877. Mrs. Wolf is the possessor of a good farm of 150 acres, with 100 under a high state of cultivation. She also owns a steam cotton gin and grist mill, which was erected in 1883. She came with her husband from Indiana to this State and made a settlement in Conway County in 1873. She has an excellent farm, well improved, with a most pleasant residence in Bentley Township. Her son-in-law, Mr. Drake, manages the estate and attends to her interests now. She is a member of the M. E. Church, South.
