I have tried to copy the document exactly as written. Gina. page 1 Wm. Conley- Born in Ireland, came to America and settled in Virginia in Colonial days. Anderson Conley, son of William Conley born in Virginia. Epaphroditus Conley, farmer, son of Anderson Conley, born in Virginia October 1, 1818, died at Jerusalem, Arkansas November, 1893. His parents moved to Tennessee and at the age of 19 Ep, as he was called, married Mary Ann Calhoun, a daughter of John C Calhoun. They came to Arkansas and settled in Searcy County where they remained a few years, then moved to Conwat County where they remained till death. To this union were born 9 children as follows: John A, Jane, Anne, Margaret Irene, William, Eliza, Mary, Lucinda and Martha. Mary Ann Conley (nee Calhoun) died in 1880, aged 60 or 61. Ep Conley and his son John A were both soliers in the Federal Army during the war between the states. John A Conley was twice married. His first wife, Caroline Draper, was the mother of two children, James Porter and Sally Josephine. By his second wife, Mollie DeStansil, he had the following children, Macy and Mae and two that died in infancy. John A Conley served in the Union Army. Was a Presbyterian minister after the war, also farmer. James Porter, farmer and Presbyterian preacher, married Dora Poe, who bore him two daughters, Esther and Ruth. She afterwards divorced him and he married a second time and had two more daugthers. Josephine married John Hawkins Houston, farmer. Her children are John Hawk Jr, Elbert (who died in his teens), Eva (who married Hugh Cheek), Grace (who married Walter Duncan) and Eugenia (who married Luther A Maxwell). John Hawk Jr married Ida Bell Massingill and Bertha Massingill Webb. Jane Conley married John McElroy, farmer. Had three sons, John and Elliott and other children, Gashum, Will, Sarah and Minnie. Anne Conley married Louis Henley, farmer. The had five children, John Samuel, Alice, Frank, Rosetta, Nettie and Millard. Alice and Rosetta married Singletons. Margaret Irene conley married William W Reynolds, farmer and Methodist minister, and Confederate soldier under Forrest. Children: John Hamms, Minnie May, Hettie, Mabel, Born August 28 1846 Died Nov 26, 1931. [1846 is marked out] William conley, farmer, married twice. (1) Sallie Clark, chidren by her, Willie (murdered by Denis Scroggins), Mary Ellen. (2) Eliza Riggs children: Albert, Nathan P, Dolph. page 2 Eliza Conley married Sam C McElroy, farmer, Children, Mattie, Mittie Lee Rastus and one other girl. Mary conley married John R Andrews, farmer, Children, William Ollie (dead), John C, Lonnie, and Robert R. [could be Hobert R] Lucinda conley married James A Hamm, farmer, Children- Idella and ElDorado. Martha Conley married Jas. Franklin Myers, farmer. One child, a daughter. Mother and child died at its birth. Brothers and Sisters of Ep Conley are Bill, Beverly and Mack, and Sally, who married a Cobb. Sally had a daughter who married John Dickey. Also had two sons, John and Henry Cobb. Henry had several children. Both dead. Judge and Book Berryman distantly related. Bill Conley had two sons, Mack and Billy. Also a daughter, Susan, who married Dr J D Eddy.
