Hannah that is in Conway's Bios.I hope that you will enjoy this as much as I do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPRINGFIELD MAY 1874 HON. J. R. H. SCOTT Dear Sir, Yours of May 18th is duly recieved.I was pleased to hear from you and believe we can congratulate ourselves, you as an accredited and myself as a semi "quavi" representative of the people. I was pleased to learn from your letter the important steps taken by the legislature to remove from the shoulders of the people the burdens under which they have for aa long time struggled, and i trust that we may now greet the approach of a happy day ushered in as it is by a promised morn. I will give you my positive assistance to our individual representation------ Venable-----in endevouring to restore the county seat of Conway county to Springfield, which must in a measure depend upon the changes of the county lines.i drew up hurriedly and sent down by Captain William Martin. two bills: one, to define and establish the boundaries of Conway and Faulkner counties, and the other to remove the county seat from Lewisburg to Springfield.I would be gald if yourself,Daavis, Venable and others interested would get together and make such changes as you think best, and see that the bills, or something like them are introduced at an early date. The people were sadily imposed upon in the enactment of the Faulkner county bill, and the bill removing the county seat from Springfield to Lewisburg, and i think it is due them from this legislature to remedy the evil. I will be pleased to hear from you again and will at all times cooperate with you in advancing the public interest, and you may believe me to be your sincere and personal friend.
