All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Dallas (TX) Morning News, Oct 8, 2006 BOLYARD, MATTIE SAIN Born March 21, 1912 in Morrilton, AR, saw the face of Jesus at age 94 on October 5, 2006. She was preceded in death in 1978 by her husband of 47 years, Archie Ray Bolyard. Mattie was an accomplished church pianist and organist since age 16 when Trinity Baptist Church was formed in Port Arthur, TX. She played for over 40 years as her husband led the music at Trinity and Ninth Ave. Baptist Church's in Port Arthur, First Baptist Church in Groves, TX, and First Baptist Church in Colmesneil, TX. In recent years she played piano for her Sunday School Department at Colonial Hills Baptist in Cedar Hill. Mattie was a loving homemaker, a marvelous cook, and will be missed by her loving family and countless friends. She is survived by sisters Ruth Irvine and Jessie Balsimo of Port Arthur; daughter Ruth Keen and husband Jerry, of DeSoto; son, Charles Bolyard and wife Linda, of Richmond, TX; five grandchildren, John Keen of Brooklyn, NY, Libby Traylor and husband Kent, of Midlothian, Lisa Hammond and husband Greg of Houston, Michael Bolyard and wife Lynne, of Richmond, TX, and Jill Vance; and ten great grandchildren . Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 PM, Monday, October 9, 2006, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Memorial service is at 4 PM, Tuesday, at Jaynes, officiated by Rev. Billy Johnson.
