Velma Magie Meredith, 84, of Hot Springs, died Thurs., Aug. 17, 1995.

She was born Aug. 15, 1911, a daughter of Holly and Josie Howard Magie 
of Nimrod. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She and her late 
husband, David, had been owners of Meredith Motor Co. since the late 1930s.

Survivors include a son, Wendell Meredith of Hot Springs; one brother, 
Paul Magie of Perryville; three sisters, Carmon Anderson of Perryville, 
Ida Umphers of Little Rock and Bonita Magie of Hot Springs; and two 
grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Mon. at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the 
Rev. James Craver officiating. Burial was in Crestview Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Jerry Magie, John Magie, Ronnie Magie, Vell Meredith, 
Bud Tucker, and Steve Gains.
