Sponer, 86, of the St. Vincent Community died Thurs., Aug. 10. He was born Mar. 27, 1909, in the St. Vincent Community, a son of Frank Sponer and Clementine Wieson Sponer. Mr Sponer was retired from Crompton Arkansas Mills and a member of the St. Mary’s catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph’s Society. He was the widower of Theresia A. Sponer. Survivors include five daughters, Christine Rhea and Emerita Sponer, both of the St. Vincent Community, Martha Fougerousse of Morrilton, Anne Andrews of Center Ridge, and Mary Taylor of Plumerville; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Rosary was 7 p.m. Fri. at the Harris Chapel Funeral mass was Sat. 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Arthur Chiasson. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were Mr. Sponer’s grandsons, Frankie Rhea, Leo Rhea Jr., Joe Fougeroussse, Paul Fougerousse, Rick Fougerousse, Mark Fougerousse, Larry Joe Mallett, Lynn Mallett, Jamie Mallett, and Tony Andrews.
