James Samuel Owens,
Formerly Of City,
Dies Near Newport
James Samuel Owens of Rt. 2 Newport and formerly of Jonesboro died
Saturday afternoon at his home following a heart attack.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrle Owens, six sons Alney, Edward, and
James Owens of Jonesboro, Noel of Rogers, Leonard of Newport, and J. W.
of Colorado, one daughter, Mrs. Helen Mead of Weiner, and two brothers,
Rufus and Pat Owens of Kentucky.
Funeral rites were held this afternoon at two o'clock at the Central
Baptist Church conducted by Rev. J. I. Cassey, pastor Interment was at
the Kellers Chapel Cemetery in charge of the Farmers Union Funeral Home.
