Michael Lynch, retired merchant, was born in Ireland in 1818, and came 
to the United States in 1840, settling in Van Buren in 1848. He 
followed mercantile pursuits for many years, and retired in 1882, and 
became identified with other enterprises, in which he is still 
engaged.
