Joe C. Brockett, 85, of Route 2, Cherry Valley, died Saturday
afternoon in Cross County Hospital in Wynne.

Brockett, formerly of Illinois, was a resident of the Cherry Valley
area 64 years.  He was a retired farmer and a Methodist.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Miles Rooks Jr. of Cherry Valley
and Mrs. Donald Kurtz of Burlington, Iowa; one brother, Hillis Brockett
of Bellaire Bluffs, Fla; two grand-children and three great grand-
children.

Arrangements are incomplete and announcement will be made by Gregg
Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
