R. Taylor was born in Dallas county, Ark. near Princeton, Oct. 9, 1889. In early life, when only ten or eleven years of age, she gave her heart to God and united with the Methodist church, and lived a devout and beautiful christian life. Miss Lydia had been in bad health many years, and suffered than even the family knew, because she did not complain and did not want to burden others with her sufferings. This year her health grew much worse, maing it necessary that she be carried to the hospital. About two weeks ago she became severely ill, and on Saturday evening July 27, 1918 at 10:00 o'clock, she calmly passed away. Before her death she took her brother and sister by the hand and said, "It will be so sweet when I get home." The body was brought to Sparkman on the Sunday morning train and carried to the family residence in the country. The funeral was held at Sardis church Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing loved ones and sympathizing friends. It is hard for the family to part with Miss Lydia, but it is a great consolation to them to have left the memory of such a sweet and noble life. A host of friends offers to the family their prayers and sympathy. Her pastor, John H. Glass. -------------- (I believe that Lydia LaBelle was the daughter of Peter Gale Taylor and Amelia R. Sloop Taylor, though she was not listed in the obituary of Peter Gale Taylor) Submitted by Jodie Wyatt, Arkadelphia, AR
