Julia Taylor - died before 1949 MRS. JULIA DIAL VICTIM OF ACCIDENTAL FIRE Mrs. Julia Dial, wife of the late Dr. J. J. Dial, died at her home here at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday from burns received earlier in the day. From the best evidence gathered Mrs. Dial had looked after her patients about 5 o'clock, saw they were all resting well, put some fuel on the fire, and then lay down on a pallet in front of the fire grate to take a nap. She was aroused by the burning of her garments, screamed and ran into the room of one of her patients who was there with a child, operated on the day before, and with the assistance of the lady put out the fire, but not until Mrs. Dial was severely burned from her feet to her neck. The alarm was given and soon neighbors and relatives gathered with physicians and assistants, and everything was done that could be done to save her, but the fire had done it's work and she passed away just before noon. With her going Sulphur Springs loses one of her best citizens, the medical fraternity and humanity in general a fine nurse, while friends and relatives one devoted to their welfare and with a heart tuned to administer to their needs and sympathize in their distresses. The funeral services took place at the home of Judge J. A. Dial, a stepson, Thursday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest under an embankment of flowers, a feeble expression of the esteem and affection in which she was held and loved. Three brothers survive, Eugene Taylor, Shreveport, C. F. Taylor of Trees, La., and J. E. Taylor, of Arkansas. She is also survived by three stepchildren, Judge J. A. Dial of this city, Mrs. A. L. Williams of Greenville, and Oscar Dial of Sherman.
