Bessie Stinson Edwards, 81, wife of James R. Edwards, died at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock yesterday. Mrs.. Edwards, suffering from a heart condition, entered the hospital May 1. Mrs.. Edwards, daughter of the late William Michael and Matilda Elizabeth Dean Stinson, was born at Fountain Hill, Ashley Co., Dec 14, 1877. Her marriage to Mr. Edwards occurred Aug 16, 1896, and they resided at Montrose before moving to Conway. The home here is at 1905 Scott Street. Mrs.. Edwards was a member of the First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday school class and the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Also surviving are four sons, John W. and James R. Edwards of Batesvillle, Dr. Hugh R. Edwards of Searcy and Charles B. Edwards of Conway, five daughters, Mrs.. Mary Stewart of Conway, Mrs.. J. P. Gammel of Memphis, Mrs.. Alma Roth of Ruston, La., Mrs.. A. J. Meadors of Morrilton, and Mrs.. Alton Foster of Garden City, Kan; one brother, Ned Stinson of Poteet, Tex; three sisters, Mrs.. John L. Denson of Poteet, Mrs.. Will Myers of San Antonio and Mrs.. Hugh Roney of Portland, Ark.; 22 grandchildren and 15 great=grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the McNutt funeral Home this afternoon by the Rev. James H. Streetand the Rev. C. N. Guice and burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery by McNutt's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Allan and John Meadors, F.D. Warren, Frank and Robert Edwards and J.P. Gammel. Honorary pallbearers were members of the First Baptist Church, Leslie Crafton Jr., and Robert C. Allison.
