Born in Charleston, Franklin County, Arkansas on the 13th of May 1917. Inducted on the 10th of March 1941 at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Honorably discharged lapel button issued on the 18th of December 1944 at Fort Bliss, Texas. Entitled to wear a bronze battle star device for the Aleutian Campaign Ribbon, authorized four Overseas Service Bars, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defens Ribbon, and subsequently the World War II Victory Medal.
