She was the former Amanda Ruth Stanley, born on Sept. 22, 1907, in rural Franklin County to Fred and Theta Stanley. She resided in Ozark until about 1951, when she moved with her husband, Philip J. Butler, a local photographer, to North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Philip J. Butler and Irwin "Red" Akre; her brothers, Gordon and Fredrick Stanley; and sister, Jean Casey of Ozark. Survivors include a son, Philip G. Butler; two grandsons, Paul and Andrew; and a granddaughter, Amy. She died March 1 and was buried March 7 in Little Rock.
