Mrs. Alice Kensey, 64-years of age, mother of Mrs. Will Maguffee, died Wednesday morning of this week at the home of her daughter, in Salem, after an illness of a week, of pneumonia. The body was prepared for shipment by T.H. Morris of the Mammoth Spring Hardware Co., assisted by C.P. Goetting of Thayer, and the same was shipped yesterday to St. Louis for burial, accompanied thence by Mrs. Will Maguffe, a daughter, Ed. Ingalls, a son whose home is in Ft. Worth, Texas, and W.B. Wood, a brother, of St. Louis. These loved ones were with her when death came and stole her away. Dr. and Mrs. Kensey first came here in 1906. Remaining but a year the family went back to Kansas. In 1910 they came to stay. Dr. Kensey died not many months ago at the farm home in Washington township. Mrs. Alice Kensey was born in Illinois. She was a woman of rare intelligence, kind and jovial always, one of those characters whose mere presence brings sunshine and gladness to hearts in gloom. She will be sadly missed, not by her daughter only, but by all who had the honor of her acquaintance. Thus, one by one, the autumn leaves are falling.
