A real estate salesman for Cooper Properties of Hot Springs Village, he was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, spent most of his life in Van Buren and was the former owner and operator of Chitwood Cleaners. He was predeceased by one daughter, Lee Ann, in 1966 and his parents, Wanda & Reggie Chitwood. Survivors include one daughter, Sidney Sue Franzemeier of Fort Smith; four sons, Michael Chitwood and Mark Chitwood, both of Van Buren, Reggie Lee Chitwood of Bryant and John David Chitwood of Hot Springs; two granddaughters, Christine Headley and Aubrey King, both of Fort Smith and one great-granddaughter, h; Ashley Headley of Fort Smith. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dois Kennedy officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Chitwood, Charles Wimberly, Bill Stroud, Dr. Charles Ward, Bill Thomas and R. W. Ocker. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and management of the cooper Properties of Hot Springs. Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
