February 15, 1992 Page 2A Charles Edward McKenzie, 78, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1992, in a local hospital. He was a native of Ola and retired civil engineer from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 39 ½ years. He was a World War II Army Veteran, Bronze Star recipient, Sgt. 9th Infantry, 9th Division Italy, Sicily and North Africa Division. Survivors include his wife, Laura Combs McKenzie of Hot Springs; two daughters, Dr. Sharron Horn of Portage, Wisconsin and Laura Jeanne McKenzie of North Little Rock; one son-in-law, Lt. Cmdr. Truman Horn of Portage, Wisconsin; three sisters, Jessie Maude Pool and Carra Lee Franks, both of Little Rock, and Jeannelle Dickinson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Steve and Scott Pool, both of Portage, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Union Cemetery, El Dorado. Gross Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
