Pine Bluff Commercial 16 May 1966
Pine Bluff Commercial:  Monday, May 16, 1966 - Lawrence Knox Ashcraft, 72, of 
Prattsville (Grant County), died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the Veterans Hospital 
here.  He was a retired farmer.  A lifelong resident of Grant County, Mr. 
Ashcraft was a son of the late Ruben and Rebecca Bratton Ashcraft.  He 
attended Grant County schools and was in the Army in World War I.  He married 
the former Ella Crutchfield.  Mr. Ashcraft is a member of the Philadelphia 
Baptist Church.  Others surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Illa Wilson of 
Sheridan, Mrs. Alice Taylor of Pine Bluff and Mrs. Myrtle Nave of Novata, CA.  
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Tuesday at the Philadelphia Baptist Church 
by Reverend Joe May, Reverend Jackie Holt, Reverend Huey Sadler.  Burial will 
be in Philadelphia Cemetery by South Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be James 
Crutchfield, Billy Crutchfield, Martin Crutchfield, Kirby Ashcraft, Billy 
Ashcraft and Lewis Shirrion.
