Guy David Mayfield

    Guy David Mayfield, 88, of Sheridan, Ark., was born July 20,
1913, in Sheridan to the late Alexander and Anne Vest Mayfield.
    He died Aug. 28, 2001, in Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.
    Mr. Mayfield was owner of Mayfield Oil and Wascaster Oil Co. and
retired in 1985. He was a graduate of Sheridan High School and
attended Missionary Baptist College before going to California to
work in the timber industry.
    Survivors are his wife of 59 years: Estelle Howard Mayfield; two
sons and a daughter-in-law: Jim and Margaret Mayfield of Sheridan and
Jerry D. Mayfield of Boulder, Colo.; two grandsons and wives: Dr.
Jeff and Susan Mayfield of Benton, and Attorney Mark and Kara
Mayfield of Jonesboro; and four great-grandchildren: Madison,
Mallory, Matthew and Victoria.
    Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Buie Funeral
Home in Sheridan. The Rev. Tim Montgomery officiated. Burial was in
Lost Creek Cemetery.
