All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Fred Alvin Paxton Fred Alvin Paxton, 82, of Little Rock, Ark., was born Nov. 27, 1918 in Prattsville to the late James Benton Paxton and Bessie B. Lee Paxton. He died Aug. 28, 2001, in the North Little Rock Veterans Hospital. Mr. Paxton was a retired truck driver at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion. Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law: Fred A. Jr. "Butch" and Carolyn Paxton of Poyen, David and Marcia Paxton of Prattsville, Stuart and Phyllis Paxton of East End, Stephen Paxton of Little Rock; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Lola Pumphrey, Laura Lee Beasley, Jo Boyce and Nell Zielonka. Funeral services were at Friday, 10 a.m. on Aug. 31 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville. Burial was in Philadelphia Cemetery with Military honors. Memorials may be made to Philadelphia Cemetery Association. Arrangements were by Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan.
