All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Virgel Reynolds Virgel was born July 19, 1921, in the Sunshine Community to Hardin and Edna Reynolds. He went to be with the Lord on Oct. 7, 2001 after a lengthy pulmonary illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise; brother, Norvel; and sister, Maxine Kinsey. Virgel is survived by his wife: Donna Sties McLain; son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Janie Reynolds of Hot Springs; son: Terry Reynolds of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and Phillip McCrory of Dallas, Texas; step son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Elisia McLain of Burnsville, N.C.: stepdaughter and son-in-law: Cindy and Bruce Scruggs of Canton, N.C.; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Virgel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He served on the active Board of Deacons at Hot Springs Baptist Church were he was active in Singing Seniors, Saturday morning prayer group, Super Seniors, and the sanctuary choir. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #419. During World War II he served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He had been retired from Sears after 31 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, painting, and golf. He devoted his life to helping others. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Brent McLain, Rev. Patrick McCrory, Justin Reynolds, Mark Reynolds, Jason Spivey, and good friend, Don Buelow. Honorary Pallbearers were the Saturday Morning Men's Prayer Group and Sam Windell's Sunday School Class, the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Center ICU staff and Dr. John Bond. The funeral was held at Hot Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Price, the Rev. James Carver, and the Rev. Mike Pounders presiding. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in the Sunshine Community. Donations can be made to the Hot Springs Baptist Church building fund.
