Roberta Harper Darnell Yancey

    Roberta Harper Darnell Yancey, 83, of Sheridan, Ark., was born
June 27, 1918, in Sheridan to the late Johnny Jackson Harper, Sr. and
Sarah Emily Baker Harper. She died Oct. 22, 2001 in Baptist Medical
Center in Little Rock.
    Mrs. Yancey was a member of Moore's Chapel Methodist Church and
owner of Darnell Fabric & Fashion.
    Survivors are her husband: Noah Eugene Yancey; a son: Lee Darnell
of Benton; a daughter: Jean Jones of Sheridan; a brother: Cleo Harper
of Sheridan; sisters: Lena Duncan of Pearl River, La., Topsie Reed of
Cleburn, Texas, Helen Walker of Sheridan, Tresie McCool of Winston,
Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-
grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Buie Funeral
Home Chapel in Sheridan. The Rev. Terry Mann and the Rev. Billy
McGarity officiated. Burial was in Lost Creek Cemetery.
