Born September 15, 1997 in Little Rock, she was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents Dewitt and Velma DEES; maternal great-grandparents, Rufus and Lucille BURNEY; maternal great-grandfather, Rayburn E. JOHNSON and maternal great-grandfather Charlie O. EATON. Survivors include her parents, Seth and Jean BURNEY of Paragould, a brother Christopher Burney of Paragould; paternal grandparents, Wilmer and Dewanda BURNEY of Paragould; maternal grandparents, Bill and Donna EATON or Oak Grove; maternal great-grandmother, Elsie EATON of Paragould, and maternal great grandmother Betty JOHNSON of Paragould. The funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Earl Mangrum officiating. Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. ****************** William LANE, 73 of Sheridan died Friday, October 24, 1997 in Paragould. The son of the late Arthur and Susie LUTTRULL LANE he was born August 29, 1924, in Bono. A retired self-employed truck driver, he was a World War II Navy veteran and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include, four sons, Willie Don LANE of El Paso, AR, Tommy LANE and Randy LANE, both of Indiana and Curtis LANE of Michigan; two sisters, Marie MOORE of Brinkly and Beatrice GOODMAN of Jonesboro; six grandchildren. Grave side services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel North Cemetery near Sheridan under the director of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. Pallbearers will be Lane's four sons, Jerry Goodman and Gerald Brown. ****************** Hayden D. MAHAN, 82, of Marshall died Friday, October 24, 1997 in Little Rock. Born Nov. 6, 1914 in Rabbit Ridge he was the minister of the Rabbit Ridge Church of Christ in Damascus. He is survived by a son, Larry MAHAN of Russellville; two daughters Martha HIGHFILL of Paragould and Margie RATCHFORD of Marshall; three brothers, H. L. Mahan of Fayetteville, Alan and Slater MAHAN of Damascus; two sisters Glenna HOLLAND of Morrilton and Sue NABORS of Rabbit Ridge; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in the Rabbit Ridge Church of Christ with Bill Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Memorial Gardens under the direction of Roller Coffman Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be David MAHAN, Dick MAHAN, Carl MAHAN, Randy Holland, Jim Nabors, Jr. and Bryan MAHAN. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Hubbard, Warren Balentine, Bazze Sewell and Jared Horton. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ****************** James Copley MATHEWS - 84, of Paragould died Friday, October 24, 1997 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. Born July 23, 1913 in Kansas City, Kansas he was the son of the late James Shannon and Mary Ellen Stewart Mathews. A graduate of the University of Missouri with an engineering degree he was retired from Wagner Electric. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Master Mason of the Scottish Rite and served on the board of directors of Mission Outreach. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bell Mathews of Paragould, a step-son Robert Ray Butler of Lakland, Fla; a brother, Rayburn E. Mathews of Jennings, Mo.; a sister, Margaret Mathews Kimmell of St. Genevieve, Mo., a grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. G. Wayne Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in the Linwood cemetery in Paragould. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. ****************** Robin June PANHORST - 28, of Marmaduke died Friday, October 24, 1997 at her residence. Born July 6, 1969, she was the daughter of Troy and Barbara MACKEY of Paragould. A homemaker, she was a member of the Paragould Church of Nazarene. Survivors include her husband, Donald Panhorst of Marmaduke; a son, Trevor Panhorst of Marmaduke, a daughter, Kari Panhorst of Marmaduke; her parents; two brothers, Danny and Mark Mackey of Paragould; two sisters, Deana Allison of Mansfield, Ariz. and Annetta Krigbaum of Magazine; maternal grandparents, Doc and Edna WISE of Jonesboro; and paternal grandparents Jim and Wilma Mackey of Bono. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Home with the Rev. Eudell Stroud officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lafe. The family requests memorial be made to the Epilepsy Foundation. ****************** Elsie Norah WEST - 89, of Paragould died Friday, October 24, 1997 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. A homemaker and member of the Free Will Baptist Church, she was born in Mammoth Springs, but lived most of her life in Bono. She was preceded in death by a son, J.R. West and a daughter Muriel West. Survivors include her husband, Fred West of Paragould, a son, Milburn West, Sr. of Brookland; five daughters, Imogene Jordan of Jonesboro, Sarah Jeans of Koshkonong, Mo, Virginia Shelton of Light, Debbie West of Jonesboro and Cathy Smith of Paragould; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Revs. J. W. Adams and Bill Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Bono with Fred Jordan, Jeff West, John West, Larry Jordan, J.B. Smith and Robbie Joe West serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
