Finley of the County of Little River and State of Arkansas for and in consideration of the sum of two dollars to me in hand paid by Geo. Taylor of the County of Hempstead and State aforesaid the receipt where of. I hereby acknowledge and for further consideration of such suppliers of provisions merchandise money, etc as the said Taylor may furnish me during the present mercantile year, said supplies to be limited at his option. I hereby grant, bargain and sell to said Taylor the following described property viz: All of the crop of cotton corn or pther produce which I may raise or in which I may be in any manner have an interest for the present year also, one gray mare, seven years old named Jane. All of said property warranted free of incumbrance and against adverse claim. To have and to hold the same until the said Taylor, his heirs and assigns forever. Conditioned that should I pay to him on or before the 1st day of January 1878 such sums as I may be owe him as aforesaid then this mortgage to be void otherwise to be in full force and effect. But in default of such payment by the time specified or should I suffer to be removed or disposed of or attempt to move or dispose of any of said property before said indebtedness is paid or should I at anytime abandon or suffer to go to waste or fail to take the usual care of the same then the said Taylor is hereby empowered to take immediate possession of any or all of said property and sell the same or a sufficiency thereof to pay said indebtedness at public auction for cost after having given ten days notice of time and place of sale to me or my legal representations. Given under my hand and seal this 23rd day of March 1877 R.J. Finley State of Arkansas County of Hempstead This 23rd Mar 1877 appeared before me an acting and duly commissioned Justice of the Peace within and for the State and County aforesaid R.J. Finley to me well known and acknowledged that he had executed the foregoing instrument of writing for the purposes therein set forth. W.R. Bell J.P.
