Hope Star Thurs. Sept. 30, 1976

Hope- Miss Marie Purkins, aged 92, of Hope died Wednesday.  She was a
retired kindergarten teacher and the oldest member of First Methodist
Church.  She taught Sunday School for many years and was a pianist at
the church. Surviviors are three sisters, Miss Nannie Purkins and
Mrs. Glen L. Williams Sr., both of Hope, and Mrs. Edward Woodford of
Little Rock. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakcrest Funeral
Home.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetary.
